Community Associate, Wall Street Journal Professional

The newly developed Professional Membership team is responsible for recruiting and retaining members of the world’s foremost influential business membership. We equip ambitious professionals with the essential intelligence and tools they need to better lead their industries, grow their businesses and advance their careers. We provide a highly specialized service that builds on the power of our journalism, the insight of our analysis, the ambition of our audience and the continuity of community.

 

The Community Associate will join the team that produces world-class memberships for professionals at The Wall Street Journal. Our members are the world’s leading CEOs, politicians, industry experts and business leaders. The memberships are composed of live events, news products, tools and services. The roster of services will grow significantly over the next few years, and this is a high-profile role with exposure to Dow Jones’ and the Journal’s senior leadership.

 

Responsibilities include:

The Community Associate will be responsible for helping to build and maintain a virtual networking forum for our prestigious members. This will be a place where members can privately communicate with each other outside of the established in face meetings we provide, both one on one and as a group. These discussions will help members expand their networks and share common challenges and opportunities.

 

(a) feeding into requirements for new community platform;

(b) testing and feeding back on development of platform;

(c) maintaining the membership lists inside the platform;

(d) creating discussion topics;

(e) driving engagement of members in the community platform working with the marketing team to optimize each awareness channel

 

Requirements:

The position requires an understanding of virtual communities. Experience of 2 years working in the social media field is a plus. Expertise should include excellent writing skills, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to fully understanding a target customer. Experience with high-end executive/business and policy audiences is preferred. Also essential are energy, enthusiasm, curiosity and the ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment.

 

A Bachelor’s degree is required.
