Job Description

Barron’s is undergoing a digital investment and transformation program and requires an exceptional engagement editor to help us build a new, more diverse audience, while increasing loyalty and engagement among our current readers.  

The engagement editor will be responsible for a wide variety of audience-building activities, including:

  • The daily posting of Barron’s content on all applicable platforms, particularly Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Developing strategies to grow the site’s social following and increase engagement on social platforms
  • Curating and editing copy for a new suite of editorial newsletters
  • Working with other members of the audience team on multi-platform engagement strategies. This could include partnerships, push notifications, comments and more.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A proven track record of growing a brand’s audience through email lists and/or social media
  • Superb writing skills, with a proven ability to write sharply and engagingly on difficult-to-explain topics
  • A fascination with finance, business, technology, and breaking news
  • Experience with A/B testing and developing strategy based on analytics
  • An ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to get things done
  • Experience producing and editing graphics, video, and/or photos
  • An experimental mindset and a bias towards action
  • A minimum of three years in online journalism and a minimum of two years in a social media or newsletter specific role
