Dow Jones: B2C Data Analyst
Reporting to the Dow Jones lead analyst supporting the B2C verticals (WSJ, DJMG) within the Customer Data Analytics team, this position will deliver on ad-hoc requests for analysis and data reduction as well as preparing and implementing processes for automation around repeatable data reduction. Based in NYC, this staffer will support requests from The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and The Dow Jones Media Group (DJMG), which are the B2C businesses verticals within Dow Jones connecting retail consumers to premium news and information content.
Candidates for this role will have demonstrated past experience in reporting & business intelligence. Past data modeling projects should include topics such as regression, conversion analytics and retention & churn, where critical thinking is required to answer business questions through the reduction of 1st / 2nd / 3rd party datasets.
Specific responsibilities include:
Provide direct support for B2C analytics requests, as well as being a secondary/backup on projects delivered by the lead B2C analyst
Execute analysis on datasets which require critical thinking in the areas of consumer content consumption, campaign conversion, ROI & trends
Execute analysis that includes QA processes to ensure reporting and analytics accurately reflects aggregation of data for business questions around circulation, consumer consumption & revenue
Identify opportunities to enhance an understanding of the Dow Jones customer base, segmenting content consumption and revenue
Skills Set and Experience:
BSc or BA from an accredited university or 4-year college with a preference for STEM or computer science graduates,
3+yr performing data analysis using any of Excel, R, SAS, SPSS, Matlab, Python
SQL & relational database experience necessary, experience with noSQL, Big Data stack a plus
Reporting experience a must
Experience with consumer B2C marketing and (digital) publishing preferred
Self-starter that is detail oriented
